Daniel Kohner

June 01, 2014 12:00 am Daniel J. Kohner, of La Crosse died at his home May 30, 2014, of multiple sclerosis. He was born Jan. 28, 1952. Dan graduated from St. James the Less Grade School and Aquinas High School. He became an electrician in Houston, Texas, with an emphasis and passion for computers. He was later recognized by the New York Times for assisting with computer compatibility issues when our country shifted into the new millennium. In early 2000, his life altered completely when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He battled with MS until his death. Throughout his life he had a passion for dogs and was never without one. He is survived by his mother, Elaine I. Kohner; one sister, Jean (Jerry) Ronnie; one brother, Jeff (Jennie) Kohner; and his dog, Eddie. He is also survived by three nieces, Michelle and Melissa Ronnie, Rachel Levely; and two nephews, Philip and Ben Kohner. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Michael F. Kohner in 2004; and his grandparents. A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 4, at Blaschke Schneider Funeral Home-Nelson Chapel, 1007 Caledonia St., La Crosse. The Rev.
