  Mary Lee (Schneider)West Mary Lee West, 54, Atchison, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict's Church with the Rev. Gerard Senegal, OSB, celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict's Church or Atchison Catholic School and may be left in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.arensbergpruett.com. Mrs. West was a respiratory therapist in Topeka and Horton hospitals and then with Atchison Hospital. She was born Nov. 9, 1952, in Kenosha, Wis., the daughter of Levi Emmanuel and Rosemary Hoppe Schneider. She attended schools in LaCrosse, Wis., graduating from Aquinas High School. Mrs. West was a member of St. Benedict's Church, where she assisted with the friendly visitor program and was active in Democratic politics. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She married Lester Averill on Nov. 9, 1972, in LaCrosse. They were later divorced. She married Gene West on Nov. 8, 1985, in Atchison. He survives of the home. She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Brigitta Averill; a sister, Terry Schneider; and two infant brothers. Additional survivors include two daughters, Dr. Cecelia Nashatizadeh, Lenexa, and Mamie Rose Averill West, Atchison; a son, Miles Anthony Averill West, Atchison; her mother, Rosemary Schneider, Onalaska, Wis.; a sister, Margaret Cornejo, Milwaukee, Wis.; and four brothers, David Schneider and Tim Schneider, Onalaska, William Schneider, Madison, Wis., and Jim Schneider, LaCrosse.
